Central Park School for Children
Central Park School for Children’s (CPSC) mission is that all children thrive in a community rooted in justice and equity. As part of that mission, CPSC recognized their school food programs needed to reflect the values lived out in every other aspect of school life and culture. FIG partnered with CPSC to develop a catered school meal program that sources locally, features plant-forward menu items, exposes students and staff to global flavors and cuisines, considers workers’ rights, centers climate crisis action, and more. The school food programs have continued to evolve, but the core menus, developed by FIG in collaboration with CPSC students, continue to guide the program and operations.
